Hospital in Liptovsky Mikulas is general hospital which provides health care to about 74 000 residents of Liptovsky Mikulas, Liptovsky Hradok and surrounding villages.
Hospital employs 615 people. For inpatients medical care can be provided in following departments: surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, gynekology, obstetrics, neurology, neonatology, psychiatry, traumatology; in 280 beds.
For diagnostics can be used new digital CT scan machine (2012) which allows 64 slices, digital X-Ray machine (2014) and laboratories (hematology, transfusion, biochemistry, microbiology).
Liptov region is well known vacation destination. Traumatology provides patients from foreign countries with complex medical care (conservative, surgical and postoperative) e. g. in case of musculosceletal system injury, polytrauma or craniocerebral injuries; in cooperation with deparmtent of surgery, department of anesthesiology and intensive care medicine or, if necessary, hospitals with higher level of care.
Surgical procedures are performed in 3 superaseptic operating rooms and 1 aseptic operating room. Each of them has separate air conditioner with laminar airflow system – three-stage filtration system; with temperature control. A central sterile supply department is available.
